Renovation of a risk calculation platform

With the arrival of IFRS17, this insurer must adjust its methods for calculating risks on its insurance contracts and the way in which its financial results are accounted for. A key issue for this insurer, both from an operational and financial communication point of view, the IFRS17 program has become one of the Group's priorities. Within this high-stakes, time-constrained framework, a completely overhauled risk calculation chain must be put in place to roll out new processes and additional calculations across all entities.

In this context, the IFRS17 program has chosen the Sunrise platform as the cornerstone of the Group's new IFRS17 operational chain. Sunrise must therefore be upgraded to support the new directives imposed by the regulations, respond to the significant increase in the number of users and support growing calculation needs. In fact, the current operation with a fat client available on a virtual machine will not be able to respond effectively to this new volume of users. Aneo was asked to support this insurer in its thinking and in the complete transformation of Sunrise.

As a long-standing partner of this insurer, Aneo maintained the HPC code of the historic risk calculation platform. Faced with signs of obsolescence, and in order to meet the many technological challenges of IFRS17, ANEO suggested ways of rewriting the platform to move it towards a native cloud microservices architecture.

The project to renovate the entire platform (front-end and back-end) is being carried out by the Digital Fabrik. Using an agile approach and a continuous integration chain, this 9-month project will involve a team of 5 to 8 experts, depending on the phase, in constant interaction with the insurer's PO: architects, UX designer, scrum master, full stack developers, devOps and HPC experts. This team will also be in charge of post-production maintenance.
